Lockout Tagout Awareness
Course Description:
This comprehensive Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) course will give workers the information and training they need to protect themselves against injuries due to the unexpected release of hazardous energy. This four-hour course includes the steps to correctly lock and tag out equipment/devices, legislative requirements, and the different types of energy sources and lockout devices. The training program has been designed for both new workers, or experienced workers looking for a refresher.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, delegates will be able to:
•Recognize the different types of hazardous energy sources
•Understand the hazards of servicing energized equipment and the potential injuries.
•Understand the legislative requirements
•Understand employer and employee responsibilities
•Understand the required steps to conduct an effective LOTO
•Recognize types of locks/tags and other energy isolating control methods and how to use them.
•Recognize that workplace programs and training are needed in workplaces
