Target group
This course is aimed at banksman/slingers, crane operators, deck crew, roustabouts, drillfloor crews and others involved in crane operations.
Prerequisites
A Valid NSL / RelyOn Nutec Banksman/Slinger Certificate
Objective
This course has been designed to update delegates on legislation and regulations applicable to lifting operations, lifting appliances and accessories. The course also covers planning, risk assessment and includes practical scenarios to test the theory.
Course content
The Theoretical and Practical topics covered during this training are: - Updates on Current Legislation and Regulations (LOLER etc. - HSE Guidance / Safety Requirement - Planning Rigging Operations and Risk Assessment - Practical Lifting Exercises - Theoretical Assessment Course Handout: Delegates are required to bring their copy of The International Rigging & Lifting Handbook. If not, RON will provide a loaner copy. Practical: Exercises encompassing the hands-on roles and responsibilities of the Banksman/Slinger via various scenarios (ranging in complexity) is conducted at our purpose built Lifting Operations Centre
Exam
The course begins and ends with a written test paper. Theoretical Assessment has a pass mark of 80% Practical Assessments will also be included.
