Objective
The aim of the course is to ensure participants acquire theoretical understanding and practical skills in first aid so that they are able to sustain life and revive people in the important minutes from an accident, or sudden illness has occurred, until the professional assitance can take over. The participant will be able to act on the first aid main points related to first aid situations. • can act appropriately in accidents that are immediately life threatening or can develop into life-threatening situations, including providing security, assess people, call for help, camps individuals and provide psychological first aid. • can provide basic life support to an unconscious adult person not breathing - with or without a defibrillator. • can provide first aid to small injuries, including musculoskeletal disorders, and may seek advice via emergency phone on relevant assistance to the injured. • can provide first aid for acute illnesses, and can react relevant to the injured person's condition and ensure appropriate further help. • can act in first aid situations with poisoning and burns, as well as prevent them in everyday life. • can give appropriate first aid by heat or cold exposure of a person regardless of whether the impact is locally on the skin or on the entire body.
Course content
First Aid: Cardiac arrest, accidents. bleeding disorders, minor injuries, chemical exposure (burns, and poisonings), injuries related to temperature, head injury etc. The course varitey between theory and by implemented through realistic exercises, participant reflection and practical training.
Exam
An electronic DFR certificate is generated if the participant has been active and participating the whole course and can handle learning outcomes. This is assessed by the instructor. The certificate is valid for 24 months provided acc. to DFR's guidelines
