Personnel being issued with Compressed Air Breathing System (CA-EBS) whilst travelling to work by helicopter and may be required to use a CA-EBS in the event of an emergency
Prerequisites
Delegates must possess a valid BOSIET/FOET/HUET certificate or equivalent
Objective
The objectives of the training are to ensure that the delegate gains the required knowledge and
understanding of the particular hazards and properties of a Compressed Air Emergency
Breathing System (CA-EBS) and appropriate practical emergency response actions to take
should the requirement for emergency deployment arise.

- Advantages/Disadvantages of CA EBS
- Hazards associated with CA EBS
- Components of CA EBS
- Operation of CA EBS and Lifejacket
- Practice of pre-use checks/donning and operation of CA EBS
Exam
All delegates will need to complete a short knowledge assessment and practical assessment.
All succesful delegates will be awarded the OPITO approved Compressed Air Emergency
Breathing System Initial Deployment Training Certificate, and have their vantage account updated to reflect this.
