This Product is for personnel who have been deemed ready by their employer to be formally assessed in the role of a CRO during an emergency situation.
Prerequisites
All evidence must be provided prior to any certificate being awarded.
A formal declaration and supporting evidence from the learner’s employer confirming that the learner has achieved the performance criteria in Outcomes 1 and 2 in the workplace and that the learner has been deemed ready for formal assessment against Outcomes 3 – 6.
Training and/or assessment activities contained within this Product may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be capable of participating fully. Trainees will undergo a medical screening by completing an appropriate medical declaration form at center.
Objective
This Product covers the formal assessment of the learner in the role of the CRO during an emergency situation in a simulated environment. The objectives are to ensure competence in the following:
- Maintaining a state of readiness
- Controlling critical situations
- Emergency response coordination
Course content
The learning outcomes in this unit are:
- Outcome 1: How to Maintain a State of Readiness
- Outcome 2: Maintain a State of Readiness
- Outcome 3: How to Control Critical Situations
- Outcome 4: Control Critical Situations
- Outcome 5: How to Co-ordinate the Response to Emergencies
- Outcome 6: Emergency Response Coordination
Exam
To achieve the Control Room Operator Emergency Response the learner will need to complete the 1 mandatory unit.
Learners will be assessed through observation undertaking practical exercises covering all the criteria specified under simulated conditions using a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 emergency scenarios based on the type of asset where the learner is normally required to fulfil the CRO role as agreed and confirmed by the Duty Holder.
