This course is aimed at seagoing personnel designated to launch and take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat in emergency situations.
Prerequisites
All delegates must be in possession of a valid seafarer medical certificate issued by an approved medical practitioner and show valid STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats.
Objective
During the course delegates with gain and demonstrate to a level of competence on how to operate life-saving appliances and take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat during and after launch. The delegate will also be able to operate a survival craft engine and manage survivors and survival craft after abandoning ship. Delegates will also acquire the knowledge on the correct use of locating devices including communication and signalizing apparatus and pyrotechnics.
