Helicopter Fire Fighting Training

The course is designed for all personnel who are designated as Helicopter fire team member.

No prerequisite is required for this course.

This course focuses on fire and emergency response to an helicopter incident. On successful completion of this course, delegates will have a greater knowledge and understanding of practical training in helicopter fire-fighting and rescue actions.

This course consists of practical and theoretical training and knowledge of; • Chemistry of Fire • Firefighting Agents • Helicopter Crash Firefighting • Personal Protective Equipment • Breathing Apparatus • Portable and Semi-Portable Extinguishers • Hose Handling/ Foam Making Appliances • Theory of Firefighting and Risk during Helicopter Operations (landing / take off). • Performance of Firefighting and The Rescue Actions on the Helicopter Deck. • Efficient Extinguishing of Helicopter Fire and the Rescue of Persons. • Use of Monitors, Fire Hoses and Portable Extinguishers. Rescuing Crew and Passengers from a Burning Helicopter.
