Personnel who have undergone training in OPITO Tropical BOSIET/FOET and require the extra elements to bridge the gap between the Tropical BOSIET/FOET and OPITO BOSIET/FOET
Prerequisites
Personnel must have previously completed a Tropical BOSIET or Tropical FOET and hold valid certificates for these courses.
ITEMS TO BRING: All delegates must bring Photographic I.D. and PASSPORT only (original or copy)
HEALTH: All delegates will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire prior to course commencement
Objective
This training programme is designed to bridge the differences between the Tropical BOSIET/FOET and the BOSIET/FOET. This includes use of transit type survival suits and emergency breathing systems during helicopter evacuation and escape
Course content
Delegates will receive theoretical and practical knowledge in the following areas:
- Donning a transit type survival suit, aviation lifejacket and emergency breathing system
equipment.
- Operation and use of emergency breathing system equipment during pool exercises.
- Actions in preparation for a helicopter ditching.
- Actions following a ditching on water, responding and reacting to scenarios both partially
submerged and capsized.
- In-water survival techniques.
Exam
Persons successfully completing the bridging modules will be issued with an OPITO certificate for BOSIET or FOET and the details will be registered with the industry database.
The validity of the OPITO certificate is four years.
