Target group
The course is designed for forklift operators. That is, all those who use forklifts and supervisors of forklift operations.
Prerequisites
Delegate must possess valid driving license and must be at least 18 years old .
Objective
The course uses OSHA criteria from 29 CFR 1910.178. Course instructors highlight the most common dangers of powered industrial truck operations and provide solutions to those dangers of powered industrial truck operations use at worksite. Driving advice, avoiding injury and correct handling & transportation of loads are featured. To be in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178, only trained and authorized operators shall be permitted to operate a powered industrial truck. Delegates receive manuals & hands-on practical exercise to facilitate training.

The course consists of practical and theoretical training and knowledge of; • Selection of Forklift Operators • Types of Forklifts • Operator’s Responsibilities • Parts of the forklift • Hydraulic system • Basic Principle of Forklift Stability • Operating Procedures • Principle of Triangular Balance in Forklift • Use and limitation of attachments • Stacking and De-stacking of load • Longitudinal and Literate cause of tipping over • Refueling and Recharging • Parking
Exam
On completion of this course, a written assessment will be taken.
