This programme is designed to meet the further offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel working in the offshore oil and gas industry in a tropical environment.
Prerequisites
The T-FOET is open to persons who have a valid (in-date) OPITO-approved BOSIET, BOSIET (with CA-EBS), TBOSIET, FOET, FOET (with CA-EBS) or TFOET certificate.
ITEMS TO BRING: All delegates must bring Photographic I.D. and PASSPORT only (original or copy)
HEALTH: All delegates will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire prior to course commencement.
Objective
The aim of the T-FOET is to provide the delegates with the opportunity to practise and demonstrate emergency response skills which are not possible to practise during drills, exercises and emergency training offshore.
Course content
Delegates will receive theoretical and practical knowledge in the following areas:
Helicopter safety & escape:
Update on offshore safety specifics to tropical regions. Practical exercises for emergency ditching and escape training. Boarding a aviation life raft and perform initial actions. In-water survival actions including rescue by helicopter.
Fire fighting and self rescue:
Use of hand held extinguishers. Operation of fixed hose reels. Self rescue techniques in reduced visibility and complete obscured visibility. Use of escape hoods.
Emergency first aid:
Raising the alarm. Immediate first aid actions including ABC.
Exam
OPITO approved certification for Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training will be issued on successful completion of the training programme.
The validity of the OPITO certificates is four years.
