The candidate will be able to:
- Identify different types of slings
- State the safe practices of rigging
- Demonstrate competency working with various pieces of rigging gear
- Demonstrate securing a load to a sling satisfactorily
- Demonstrate hand signals
- Explain how to inspect various pieces of rigging gear
- Demonstrate familiarity with OSHA, ASME, and API standards.
Course content
The following topics will be covered during the training:
- Hardware familiarization
- Rigging inspection criteria
- Rigging procedures
- Pre-lift meeting procedures & planning the lift
- Sling selection
- Proper had signals and using them
- Rigging safety
Exam
The candidate will be required to score a minimum competency of 70% on a written exam and demonstrate competency performing various rigging procedures.
