This OPITO approved training is designed to meet the
requirements of personnel travelling offshore by helicopter as
defined by the UKOOA Guidelines for Competence and Training
in Emergency Response.
Prerequisites
There are no pre requisites for attending this training
programme.
Objective
This course consists of theoretical and practical training in
Helicopter Safety and Escape as taught in the Basic Offshore
Safety Induction and Emergency Training standard ( BOSIET )
and includes training in Emergency Breathing Systems (EBS)
equipment.
It is made up of :
Theory 10%
Practical 90%

This course focuses on the following elements:
• Helicopter Safety & Escape
• Pre-boarding
• Safe boarding
• In flight safety
• Safe disembarkation
• In flight emergency actions
• Use of Emergency Breathing System equipment
• Practical Emergency escape Breathing System training
• Practical emergency ditching and escape training
Exam
Delegates will be assessed using direct observation.
