The FOERTM training course is for existing Offshore Emergency Response Team Members who are required to revalidate their OPITO OERTM certification by completing training scenarios which they are unable to undertake offshore.
Prerequisites
Delegates must be in possession of a valid Offshore Emergency Response Team Member (OERTM) certificate or a valid Further Offshore Emergency Response Team Member (FOERTM) certificate
Objective
The objective of the FOERTM Training Programme is to give delegates the opportunity to further practice training exercises onshore that relate to the Offshore Emergency Response Team Members role.
Course content
The course consists of a mix of ongoing theoretical and practical training designed to give delegates the chance to practice fire and emergency response skills, focussing on the following areas:
• Identification of different types of fire and the use of the correct equipment to extinguish the fire, including selection and use of portable and foam fire-fighting equipment
• Correct use of fire-fighting PPE including breathing apparatus
• Participation as a team member in a range of fire and non-fire related incidents
• Safe working practice in an incident area
• Casualty rescue
• Confined space and working at height incident exercises
• Incident brief/debrief
