This OPITO approved course is specified for Offshore Standby Vessel crew entering FRC coxswain training, with the overall objective of teaching boat operations and command to facilitate rescue and recovery of personnel from the sea and casualty care.
Prerequisites
Delegates must have previously attended the Initial Shipboard Operations training (ITSO) and FRC Boatman training and have completed at least 3 months sea-time as an SBV Boatman.
Objective
The training course consists of multiple elements developed to impart knowledge and understanding and competence to participate as a Coxswain of a Fast Rescue Craft. Delegates will be continually assessed against defined learning outcomes.
