The aim of this course is to teach you about first aid and bloodborne pathogens, including how they can be controlled, and you will learn to identify who is at risk, and how exposure and transmission occur.
Course content
Explain the steps to take before care is provided
Describe how to carry out CPR
Describe how to care for electrical shock, head trauma, fractures, burn injuries, choking, puncture wounds, cuts or scrapes
Describe an "emergency" and the steps to take in an emergency
Describe bloodborne pathogens and how they can be controlled
Identify who is at risk and how exposure and transmission occur
Describe the purpose of an exposure control plan and how to control occupational risks
Exam
The assessment is taken during the course and is within the expected duration.
