Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Objective
• A reduction in incidents and accidents as a result of a wider appreciation of Health and Safety in the workforce.
• The course can be an integral part of an overall safety culture (Note: the majority of Develop Training's own employees have completed IOSH Working Safely or Managing Safely).
Course content
• Understanding your Health and Safety responsibilities as a supervisor or line manager.
• Health and Safety legislation.
• Defining hazards & risks; implementing control measures.
• Identifying common hazards e.g. fire hazards, electrical hazards, manual handling injuries, the effect of noise and slips trips and falls.
• Investigating accidents or incidents and learning from them.
• Measuring health and safety performance.
• Effective Health and Safety communication.
• Improving safety performance and building safer behaviours.
Exam
The course is classroom based with discussions and demonstrations in controlled conditions, working towards a written risk control project at the close.
