Course for operatives who work and excavate in the highways, therefore, needing to locate underground apparatus, and apply signing, lighting and guarding in order to protect road users, pedestrians and the workforce.

Objective

Course content
• Risks and control measures to apply, in order to prevent striking underground services.
• How to use cable detection equipment accurately, and to be able to follow, drawings, plans and maps.
• How to set out signing, lighting and guarding in the correct sequence according to the speed and type of highway; understand and use traffic control measures, and take down all signing, lighting and guarding equipment in the correct sequence, once the work is finished.
• Gain theoretical and practical experience around excavation in the highway.
