This course is suited to learners nominated for appointment as authorising engineer, authorising person or person in charge working at height, on masts and towers and fixed accessway

Objective
• Competence and confidence of staff members to supervise work at height.
• Better documentation, communication and enforcement of safe working procedures.
Course content
• An Introduction to The Health and Safety at Work Act, The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and the Working at Height Regulations 2005.
• Application of JSP 375 Volume 3 Chapter 7.
• Types of Work at Height, Safe Systems of Work for Work at Height, Safety Management Team, Authorised Climbers, Risk Assessment for Works at Height.
• Fall Protection Equipment (FPE) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Safety Documentation Monitoring & Auditing.
Exam
The theory of the course is delivered in the classroom, but there is an emphasis on hands on practical experience with relevant equipment wherever this is possible.
