Objective
• The course will also be useful to Works Managers and Supervisors as an introduction to electrical safety and the law. • Provision of suitable training as laid down by the Electricity at Work Act, with emphasis on HSG85 Safe Working Practices. • Certification and documentary evidence of electrical competency to be held with Human Resources.
Course content
• Dangers of Electricity. • Effects of current on the body. • Methods of protection from electric shock. • Electricity at Work Regulations. • Roles and Duties of personnel in accordance with "The Company" Safety Rules. • Requirements of GS38 test equipment. • Safe Isolation & Testing for Dead on electrical installations as per HSG85. • Working on equipment made dead. • Working on live equipment. • Receipt of safety documents. • An introduction to "The Company" Electrical Safety Rules.
Exam
The course is delivered in the classroom with a practical demonstration and hands on practical on a Safe Isolation. Learners assessed, both in written and practical exercises.
