This product is for individuals within an organization who are designated to be assessors which may lead to further OPITO Assessor Vocational Qualification at SCQF level 8.
Prerequisites
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however OPITO requires that the delegate sitting this course provide photographic ID before starting the digital element of this training.
Objective
This Product covers the initial training to enable trainee assessors, now referred to as learners, to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills which underpin the tasks to be performed as an Assessor.
The objectives of the Assessor Initial Training are that learners will be able to:
- Understand the principles of competence assessment
including individual roles and responsibilities
- Understand evidence sources
- Understand assessment Planning
- Understand evidence gathering and evaluation and assessment
decisions
- Perform assessment planning
- Perform collecting and evaluation evidence and making the
assessment decision
- Understand recording assessment decisions
- Understand providing feedback
- Perform recording assessment decisions
- Perform providing feedback

Exam
To achieve the OPITO Assessor Initial Training Standard the learner will need to complete the 3 mandatory units.
