Objective
This Confined Space Awareness for Entry Controller (Topman) training programme is designed for operatives who may need to supervise an entry into a confined space. The Topman High Risk Confined Space Level 3 course equips delegates with the skills and knowledge to supervise and monitor safe working practices within a team operating in high risk confined spaces. The course incorporates a blend of theoretical and practical learning techniques. Course content
"The Level 3 Award in Top Person for High Risk Confined Spaces course covers modules including overseeing the entry and exit of confined spaces, dealing with emergency situations, monitoring teamwork, and ensuring safety procedures are followed, acting as the safety attendant for teams operating within confined spaces, and working to regulation standards. • Being the safety attendant for teams within the confined space. • Overseeing entry and exit of the confined space to ensure safety. • Monitoring work teams and ensuring safety procedures are followed. • Preparing for any emergency situations. • Dealing with emergency situations. • Behaving appropriately when carrying out Top Man work in High Risk Confined Spaces. • Using knowledge gained to carry out the task. • Working to regulation standards. • Summarise the requirements of the Confined Space legislation and the associated ACOP. • Select appropriate methods of risk control. • Be aware of appropriate safety equipment that may be used when entering a confined space."
Exam
Assessments include theoretical and practical evaluations that aim to identify a learner’s ability to supervise and monitor safe working practices in high risk confined spaces.
