Target group
This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to become emergency first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training emergency first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.
Prerequisites
In order to attend this course, delegates must have knowledge of the environment in which the participant performs his or her duties.
Objective
The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work Course is specifically designed for individuals who are to become emergency first-aiders in the workplace. This one-day qualification meets the requirements of both the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.
Course content
Learners will gain cover several topics as part of the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work Course, including the roles and responsibilities of a first aider, assessing an emergency situation safely, CPR and AED, administering first aid to a choking casualty, and dealing with shock, burns, scalds, bleeds, and other minor injuries.
