Target group
"IRATA L1 Designed for delegates with no experience The IRATA Level 1 course is designed to train delegates who have no prior experience in the field. Training and examination requirements will be covered to be qualified as an IRATA Level 1 Technician. A Level 1 technician is able to perform a limited range of rope access tasks. Level 1 technicians work under the supervision of a Level 3. The course covers the basic principles of movement on ropes. For example, ascent, descent and changing from ascent to descent. You will also learn how to change from rope to rope, crossing a knot, aid climbing and traversing. Also included are passing re-anchors, deviations, using a back-up system, learning elementary rigging and rope management. IRATA L2 For delegates who have a valid, in-date Level 1 IRATA certificate already. The IRATA Level 2 course is for those professionals who hold an in-date Level 1 IRATA certificate. Delegates must have over 1000 logged hours of rope access work. The Level 2 is for Lead Technicians and will cover rigging working lines, undertaking rescues & performing other rope access tasks under the supervision of a Level 3. Lead Technicians should have a knowledge of legislation, safety requirements and quality assurance procedures. The IRATA Rope Access Level 2 is the intermediate qualification and is a stepping stone towards the IRATA Level 3 certificate. For Rope Access levels 2, delegates must have logged 1,000 hours of rope access work and must produce their IRATA Logbook to evidence this. IRATA L3 For delegates looking to progress into a Level 3 Technician role The IRATA Level 3 course is designed for candidates who have a valid Level 2 IRATA certificate. Delegates must take this course to progress to a Level 3 technician. Firstly, delegates must have over 1000 logged hours of rope access work. This course covers site supervision for rope access work projects and relevant work techniques. Moreover, legislation, advance rescue techniques and provides a comprehensive level of detail. Delegates of this course must also hold an appropriate current first-aid certificate. This is to show that suitable emergency first aid training has been undertaken. Delegates must have knowledge of IRATA Training, Assessment and Certification. They must also be familiar with the contents of the IRATA ICOP. For Rope Access levels 3, delegates must have logged 1,000 hours of rope access work and must produce their IRATA Logbook to evidence this."
Prerequisites
"• Delegates must bring their IRATA Logbook after completing course levels 1, 2 or 3. This is to demonstrate they have logged enough working hours to sit the course. • All delegates are required to bring work boots and clothing that is appropriate for climbing. • Delegates will also need to bring a valid in-date photo ID. e.g. driving licence or passport • Will be physically fit and unaffected by any disability or medical condition. This includes anything that may prevent you from working safely. You need to ensure that you have an adequate level of fitness. Delegates must be physically able to perform the tasks expected in terms of strength, agility and coordination. Additionally, you must be able to withstand the stresses of inclement weather in the working environment. • Trainees must also certify they are fit enough to attend the course. For example, the minimum requirement is a self-certification statement (CTS Ltd Medical Assessment Form F-026)."
