Trainees are expected to be in a good state of health and physically capable of taking part in and completing all practical exercises. ITEMS REQUIRED FOR TRAINING: - When checking in for training, please have your GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID with you (ie: Passport or Drivers Licences, etc.) Participants must bring personal protective equipment such as: -Coveralls -CSA Approved Footwear (safety boots) PLEASE NOTE: Certificates CANNOT be issued unless valid Government issued ID has been presented on Day 1 of training for all RONC courses
Objective
This training program will explain the basic principles of operating an overhead crane.
Course content
Training includes safety and production aspects of operation with hands on practice using an overhead crane under the supervision of an experienced instructor. The purpose of this program is to make operators aware of their responsibilities and to provide instruction and experience that will facilitate the safe operation of a variety of overhead cranes. Topics include: Legislative Requirements Types of Overhead Cranes Major Components Inspections Basic Rigging Safe Operating Procedures Practical Exercises using an Overhead Crane
