Target group
Personnel who participate in search and rescue brigade, supervisors or boss of areas where work is carried out at heights or who use suspended access equipment, workers whose functions include carrying out tasks at heights or with suspended access equipment with heights greater than 1.80 mts.
Prerequisites
Safety basic course, working at heights course.
Objective
Upon completion of the course the delegate will be able to: Identify the specific fall hazards of each situation. Understand the importance and reason for inspecting specific Personal Protective Equipment. Recognize the control measures in place for work at heights. Know the IDLH of an accident scenario (Suspension Syndrome) in work at heights. Select the correct tools for the recovery and care of injured personnel in work at heights. Understand the rescue procedure for injured personnel working at heights. Prepare and execute for efficiency the rescue plan for injured personnel in work at heights.
Course content
The following topics are covered during the training: Introduction. Definitions. Accident prevention in work at heights. Procedure for the rescue of injured people in work at heights. Evaluation of the accident scene in work at heights, (State of suspension). PPE and rescue tools for injured people working at heights: Rescue classification. Self rescue. Assisted rescue from a safe surface, (Injured conscious or unconscious). Rescue with ascent and descent of the rescuer. Preliminary information to develop a rescue plan. Rescue plan. Rescue report. Injured rescue practice in work at heights.
