The Sparrows Gantry Crane Operator Re-Assessment is designed for experienced operators of overhead gantry cranes who have previously attended Gantry Crane Operator training and need to renew their certification.
Prerequisites
Delegates must have previously completed Gantry Crane Operator training and provide evidence of their certification to be verified before attending.
Objective
The aim of the Sparrows Gantry Crane Operator Re-Assessment is to establish that the delegate has the required underpinning knowledge, understanding and practical skills to fulfil the role of overhead gantry crane operator safely, effectively and competently.
Course content
Delegates will assessed in a mix of theoretical and practical elements. Practical exercises will be assessed on an ongoing basis and a theoretical exam is conducted at the end of the course. The key areas of focus include:
• Lifting operations legislation
• Hazards associated with overhead cranes
• Organising a lifting operation
• Principles of a lifting operation
• Pre-operational and operational checks
• Safe slinging & signalling
• Overhead crane maintenance requirements
Exam
Sparrows Gantry Crane Operator Re-Assessment certificate will be awarded to the candidate on successful completion of all practical and theoretical elements. The certificate is valid for two years.
