Target group
Personnel working in the wind industry or related fields needing to obtain their GWO BST Working at Heights Module certificates.
Prerequisites
All personnel participating in Basic Safety Training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating. NOTE: For safety and equipment maximum weight capacity, participants cannot exceed 2750 lbs. if participating in this module.
Objective
The aims of this course shall give the participants the necessary basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training to use basic PPE and perform safe work at heights and safe and comprehensive basic rescue from heights in a remote wind turbine environment in accordance with BST Module Working at Heights.

The GWO Working at Heights module covers the following topics: • Introduction • Legislation • Harness • Vertical Fall Arrest Systems • Fall Arrest Lanyards • Backup Systems for Exercises • Workshop: Risks/Hazards • Emergency Procedures • PPE Review • Rescue Devices • Suspension Trauma • Rescue Exercises • Evaluation
Exam
Trainees shall be assessed according to the learning outcomes by means of direct observation and oral and/ or written questions, where appropriate.
