Personnel working in the wind industry or related fields needing to obtain their GWO BST First Aid Module certificates.
Prerequisites
All personnel participating in Basic Safety Training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating.
Objective
The aim of the First Aid BST Module is to enable participants to recognize signs and symptoms of life threating situations and administer safe and effective first aid in the wind turbine industry/WTG environment in order to save lives and prevent further injury, until the casualty can be handed over to the next level of care.
After successfully having completed this BST First Aid Module, the participants can:
- Act independently in recognizing, assessing, and prioritizing the need for basic first aid and providing lifesaving first aid until the casualty can be handed over to the next level of care in case of an incident in the wind turbine industry/WTG environment (Ability, intermediate level)
- Take responsibility for recognizing their limitations as a basic first aider, calling for help and enable evacuation off the casualty in case of an incident in the wind turbine industry/WTG environment (Ability, intermediate level)

Exam
Delegates shall be assessed according to the learning outcomes by means of direct observation and oral and/or written questions, where appropriate.
