Prerequisites
Medical First Aid on Board Ship (A-V1/4-1) certificate
Objective
To be able to:
Provide Medical care to the sick and injured while they remain on board
Participate in co-ordinated schemes for medical assistance to ships
Course content
Via a mixture of theory and practical sessions, the below will be covered during the 5 days:
How to participate in the co-ordinated provision of medical care to a person on board
Assess and provide care to an ill person on board
Assess and provide care to an injured casualty on board
Exam
Assessment of evidence obtained from practical instruction and demonstration.
Successful candidates will be awarded a MCA approved Medical Care (A-V1/4-2).
