There are no learner pre-requisites for this training.
Objective
This course aims to equip learners with the minimum level of training that safety representatives, who have been elected under the Safety Representatives and Safety Committees Regulations - SI 1989/971, should receive to assist them to fulfil their functions as defined in those regulations.
This aim will be achieved by ensuring their ability to meet the following objectives:

Human Factors in Major Accident Hazards
Risk Assessment and Investigation
Proactive Safety Inspections

A series of task related exercises related to the Safety Representative’s Role

Successful learners will be awarded an OPITO approved Offshore Safety Representative Initial Training certificate which has no expiry date
