This programme is designed to meet the further offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel working in the offshore oil and gas industry who will be supplied with a compressed air emergency breathing system (CA-EBS) during offshore helicopter travel.
Prerequisites
- RG and CPF;
- Passport (expatriates);
- SCUBA Medical Questionnaire.
- Valid (in-date) OPITO-approved BOSIET (with CA- EBS), BOSIET(with EBS), T-BOSIET, FOET (with CA-EBS), FOET(with EBS) or T-FOET certificate.
Objective
To provide learners with the opportunity to practise and demonstrate emergency response skills which are not possible to practise during drills, exercises and emergency training offshore, including, in addition, the usage of a Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS).
Course content
Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS)
UNIT OIS-80 Further Helicopter Safety and Escape CA-EBS:
Outcome 1 Use of Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) (Theory);
Outcome 2 Use of Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) (Practical);
Outcome 3 Practical Helicopter Escape Techniques;
Outcome 4 Additional CA-EBS Training (In-Water).
UNIT OIS-74 Further Firefighting and Self-rescue:
Outcome 1 Raising the Alarm and Operation of Hand-Held Extinguishers;
Outcome 2 Self-Rescue Techniques.
UNIT OIS-75 Further Emergency First Aid:
Outcome 1 Emergency First Aid;
Outcome 2 Immediate First Aid Techniques.

Exam
Learners will be assessed against the learning outcomes specified using direct observation and verbal questions. Learners will be assessed using verbal questions for UNIT OIS-80 (Outcome 1), UNIT OIS-74 (Outcomes 1-2), UNIT OIS-75 (Outcome 1-2). Learners will be assessed using direct observation of practical exercises for UNIT OIS-80 (Outcomes 2-4), UNIT OIS-74 (Outcomes 1-2) and UNIT OIS-75 (Outcome 1-2). To achieve the FOET with CA-EBS Training the learners will need to complete the 3 mandatory units, correctly answering all verbal questions and successfully completing all practical exercises specified.
