Objective
To capacitate workers that execute direct or indirect activities related to cargo handling offshore, and transport of people in petroleum platforms.
Course content
1. Personnel and cargo handling basic concepts;
2. Hoisting Equipment Types;
3. Components and accessories used in handling and their respective applications. (lashings, lifting accessories, steel wire rope, etc.)
4. Cargo handling equipment and accessories’ visual inspection;
5. Equipment and accessories load capacity table and lifting angles lifting;
6. Critical cargo handling (hazardous cargo, small and big loads, tubes, plates and axes, others);
7. Signs and communication during the personnel and cargo handling: (Banksman, signaling and radio communication);
8. Incidents and accidents during handling;
9. Personnel and cargo handling safety procedures;
10. Protection equipment;
11. Cargo handling practices on the platform;
12. Final evaluation.

Exam
The students will be evaluated through direct observation at practical activities and one theoretical evaluation will be done at the end of the course. The passing mark is 60% to the theoretical evaluation.
