This training programme is designed to meet the initial offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel new (or returning) to the offshore oil and gas industry in a tropical environment and who require additional training in Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS).
Prerequisites
- RG and CPF;

Objective
To introduce learners to the specific safety issues and regimes relevant to offshore installations, and to equip them with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills for travelling to and from offshore installations by helicopter in a tropical environment, including, in addition, the usage of a Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS).

UNIT OIS-03 Sea Survival and First Aid:
Outcome 1 Evacuation Methods and Procedures;
Outcome 2 Emergency First Aid;
Outcome 3 Muster and Actions Upon Boarding a Survival Craft (TEMPSC);
Outcome 4 Sea Survival and Emergency In-Water Actions;

UNIT OIS-04 Firefighting and Self Rescue:
Outcome 1 Common Causes of Offshore Fires and Actions to be Taken;
Outcome 2 Self-Rescue Equipment and Techniques;

Exam
Learners will be assessed against the learning outcomes specified using direct observation and verbal and written questions. Learners will be assessed using written questions for UNIT OIS-01 (Outcome 1-7). Learners will be assessed using verbal questions for UNIT OIS-81 (Outcomes 1-2), UNIT OIS-03 (Outcomes 1-2), UNIT OIS-04 (Outcomes 1-2) and UNIT OIS-276 (Outcome 1). Learners will be assessed using direct observation of practical exercises for UNIT OIS-81 (Outcome 3), UNIT OIS-03 (Outcomes 3-5), UNIT OIS-04 (Outcomes 3-4) and UNIT OIS-276 (Outcomes 2-4). To achieve the T-BOSIET with CA-EBS Training the learners will need to complete the 5 mandatory units, correctly answering all verbal and written questions and successfully completing all practical exercises specified.
