Objective
To capacitate workers that execute direct or indirect activities related to cargo handling offshore, and transport of people in petroleum platforms.
Course content
1. Basic concepts of cargo and people handling;
2. Types of lifting equipments;
3. Components and accessories used in handling and respective applications.
4. Visual inspection of cargo handling equipments and accessories;
5. Equipment cargo capacity table and accessories;
6. Critical cargo handling (dangerous materials, big sized parts, tubes, outline, sheet, shaft, etc.);
7. Communication during cargo and people handling: (signalman, signaling and radio communication);
8. Incidents and accidents during handling;
9. Procedures for safety in cargo and people handling;
10. Protection equipment;
11. Cargo handling operation practices aboard the platform;
12. Final evaluation.

Exam
The students will be evaluated through direct observation at practical activities and one theoretical evaluation will be done at the end of the course. The passing mark is 60% to the theoretical evaluation.
