This course is aimed at banksman/slingers, crane operators, deck crew, roustabouts, drill floor crews and others involved in crane operations, who require refreshment training.

Objective
This course aims to provide delegates knowledge of previous training e.g. legislation applicable when carrying out lifts, including slinging various loads, and all prior assessments related to the risks involved. It also covers communication and basic signals required between the banksman and crane operator. This course is mainly practical content in accordance with LOLER Regulations
Course content
Practical training with below elements:
- Current legislation - HASWA, LOLER and PUWER.
- The requirements for third party inspections and colour codes.
- Responsibilities of the Banksman, Slinger and Crane Operators.
- Lifting Equipment.
- Methods of slinging, a wide variety of loads.
- The pre-use inspection criteria of lifting accessories.
- Risk assessments and lifting plans.
- Communication using radio and hand signals.
- Load weight assessment, sling angles and tensions.
- The safe execution of the lifting of a variety of loads.
Exam
The course will start with a theoretical test.
Upon successful completion and assessment of the practical exercises, the delegates will receive an electronic certificate
