The aim of this course is to give you an awareness of OSHA's scaffold safety standards and help you understand the hazards, requirements, and best practices for working on or around scaffolds. You will learn about scaffold components, fall protection, inspection requirements, training responsibilities, and proper erection procedure.
Course content
Describe what a scaffold is and why it is used
Recognize the basic components of a scaffold
Identify hazards associated with the use of scaffolding
Understand fall protection requirements and when to use personal fall arrest systems (PFAS), guardrails, or safety nets
Identify the roles and responsibilities of employers, employees, competent persons, and qualified persons
Explain OSHA's training requirements and when retraining is necessary
Exam
The assessment is taken during the course and is within the expected duration.
