Helideck Emergency Response Team (HERT) Course

The target group for Emergency Response Team Training programme is personnel who are to be appointed the role of Helideck Landing Officer (HLO) and / or Helideck Assistant

Valid Helideck Landing Officer (HLO) or Helideck Assistant (HDA) Training Certificate from a CAAM HATO certified Training Centre.

The objectives of this course is for delegates to fully understand the role and responsibilities of a HDA Helideck Emergency Response Team Member and practice responding to a variety of helideck firefighting and on-firefighting emergency scenarios in a training environment.

Helideck emergency response and pre-planning Helideck and helicopter emergency system and control NUI emergency response requirements Team member response in helideck and helicopter emergencies Practical exercises inclusive of : Communications Execution of emergency response tasks Conducting firefighting operations Correct use of MMMF Filter Mask Non-firefighting response Use of firefighting fixed and mobile systems Responding to helideck fires Correct casualty handling techniques
