This course is designed to meet the initial live practice onshore training and assessment requirements for Emergency Response Team Members as identified for Competence and Training in Emergency Response.

Objective
The aim and objective of the OFERTM Initial Training Programme is to equip personnel with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to perform the role of Onshore Fire/Emergency Response Team Member effectively.
Course content
The course consists of practical and theoretical training and knowledge of:
• Offshore Emergency Response Arrangements
• Teamwork and Communications.
• Entering the Incident Area
• Selection and Operation of Firefighting Equipment
• Working Duration Breathing Apparatus
• Search and Rescue
• Casualty Recovery
• Using Portable Equipment on a Range of Fires
• Non-fire Incidents
Exam
On completion of this course, a written assessment will be taken.
