This course is designed for personnel who are required to
enter any confined space to assist or rescue an entrant in
distress and also act as part of a Confined Space Rescue Team.
Prerequisites
Participants are expected to have knowledge on safe work systems.
Objective
The aim of this course is to prepare candidates to act as a
member of a Confined Space Rescue Team to be able to
enter and carry out a rescue as part of a team from within a
confined space in an emergency situation.
Note: This course will introduce and use SCBA
(Self Contained Breathing Apparatus), Airline
equipment, Escape Set apparatus and Tripod Sala
Winch.
Course content
This course includes the following modules:
• An understanding of Confined Space Legislations
• Recognition of confined spaces and classification.
• Understanding of the hazards associated with confined
spaces.
• Ability to identify and use specialist equipment
required for confined space entry activities.
• An understanding of the activity roles and individuals
duties regarding confined spaces procedures.
• Practical exercises incorporating confined space equipment,
emergency scenarios and extrication requirements of
casualties.
Exam
On completion of this course, a written assessment will be taken.
