Target group
This programme is designed to meet the further offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel working in the offshore oil and gas industry in a tropical environment and all personal currently travelling and transferring by boat to an offshore oil and gas installation.
Prerequisites
The T-FOET is open to persons who have a valid (in-date) OPITO-approved BOSIET, BOSIET (with CA-EBS), TBOSIET, FOET, FOET (with CA-EBS) or TFOET certificate. ITEMS TO BRING: All delegates must bring Photographic I.D. and PASSPORT only (original or copy) HEALTH: All delegates will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire prior to course commencement.
Objective
The aim and objective of this course is that delegates will gain further understanding and awareness of emergency response procedures on offshore installations and the safety procedures associated with traveling by Helicopter and Boat including safely transferring to or from an offshore installation.
Course content
Delegates will receive theoretical and practical knowledge in the following areas: Helicopter Safety and Escape Helicopter safety and escape techniques Firefighting and Self Rescue Basic firefighting and self-rescue techniques Emergency First Aid Emergency first aid techniques Travel Safely by Boat: Awareness of the risks to which they are exposed and how they are managed. An understanding of the essential safety rules with which they must comply and how to act in an emergency. An increase in their personnel commitment to safety. Effective use of personnel safety equipment. Practice and demonstrate correct method of boat transfers (simulated boat deck and installation).
Exam
OPITO approved certification for TFOET & Travel Safely by Boat will be issued on successful completion of the training programme. The validity of the OPITO certificates is 4 years. Delegates should report to reception for 08.00hrs, course starts at 08.15hrs, unless otherwise stated.
