The Sparrows Rigging Loft Management & Lifting Equipment Inspection course is aimed at personnel responsible for the issue and control of lifting equipment from a rigging loft.
Prerequisites
It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure that candidates elected for this training are currently or soon-to-be responsible for the issue and control of lifting equipment from a rigging loft.
Objective
The aim of this course is to provide candidates with a better knowledge and understanding of the legal and practical requirements in running an operational rigging loft and the inspection of lifting equipment.
Course content
This course covers:
• Health and safety legislation
• Introduction to rigging loft operations
• Procedural operation of a rigging loft and the inspection of lifting equipment and accessories
• Procedure for the control of quarantined equipment
• Recording and registration of lifting equipment
• Portable lifting equipment inspection procedures
• Inspection of lifting equipment / accessories
• Inspection of standard working at height equipment – full body harness, shock absorbing lanyard
• Inertia reels
• Equipment register and control documents.
Exam
A Sparrows certificate will be awarded on successful completion of this course. The certificate is valid for two years.
