Basic First Aid Course

The objective of the Advanced First Aid course is to train participants to provide immediate, safe, and effective care in emergency situations that threaten the life or physical integrity of individuals, enhancing their assessment, intervention, and stabilization skills in onshore and offshore work environments. Specific objectives of the Advanced First Aid courses: • Assessment and management of serious medical emergencies. • Basic life support (BLS) techniques • Management of complex injuries • Use of emergency equipment • Development of leadership and decision-making skills

First Aid Basics • Definition and Fundamental Principles of First Aid • Initial Assessment • Infection Control • Primary and Secondary Assessment • Use of the First Aid Kit 2. Managing Medical Emergencies: • Asthma and Breathing Problems • Airway Obstruction (Choking) and the Heimlich Maneuver • Severe Allergic Reactions • Heart Attack (Acute Myocardial Infarction) • Diabetes and Hypoglycemia • Stroke • Epileptic Seizures • Shock 3. Managing Injury Emergencies: • External Bleeding • Wounds • Internal Bleeding • Spinal Cord and Cervical Injuries and Head Disorders • Bone Fractures and Sprains • Electrical Injuries and Burns 4. Managing Environmental Emergencies: • Animal Bites and Stings • Emergency Medical Services Cold and Warmth • Poisoning Emergencies 5. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in Adults • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Adult Chain of Survival) • CPR Using Barrier Devices • Adult: Assessment and Chest Compressions • Automatic Defibrillator (AED) Management in Adults • Adults: Additional Considerations for CPR and the AED 6.
