Candidates that successfully complete the RelyOn Mechanical qualification will be able to: -Identify the correct national regulations, directives and IEC/ISOstandards which are applicable to hazardous locationscontaining non-electrical (mechanical) equipment. -Identify the correct criteria and descriptors used to classify ahazardous location. -Recognize the correct characteristics of common hazardousgases, vapors and dusts discussed during the course. -Understanding of the basic method and requirements for non-electrical equipment for hazardous locations (constructionalsafety ‘c’, control of ignition source ‘b’ and liquid immersion ‘k’) -Understanding of how certified Ex non-electrical equipmentmaintains its protection concept and how it is to be selected,installed, inspected and maintained. -Understanding of how certified Ex electrical equipmentmaintains its protection concept and how it is to be selected,installed, inspected and maintained. -Understanding of required correct equipment selection, e.g.flange, gaskets, bolts and use of current industry flangeinstallation practices. -Understanding of leak testing requirements of installed flangearrangements

This course provides training for mechanical or other personnel working in or planning to work in hazardous areas that procure, install, inspect, and maintain hazardous area Ex mechanical equipment, either with or without hazardous area experience.
Exam
Candidates who are successful in both the theory assessments will receive a RelyOn Certificate.
