Objective
Upon successful completion of all training components, in accordance with the Training Standard, trainees will receive a RelyOnNutec Canada certificate that is valid for three (3) years and a electronic wallet card certificate. The certificate indicates "Offshore Helicopter Survival".
Course content
This course is intended to provide offshore workers, both local and international, with an understanding of the hazards of helicopter over-water transportation. Whether landing on the helideck of a ship or offshore platform this course will provide you with knowledge of personal and helicopter safety and survival equipment and introduce you to emergency response procedures designed to prepare you for water impact with a subsequent abandonment on the surface or egress underwater. Practical training utilizing the Modular Egress Training Simulator (METSTM), designed to simulate the helicopter, will be used for the practical training components. Please Note: For those required to use a compressed air Emergency Breathing System (EBS), several styles (HUEBA, HEEDS and SEA-LV2) are also offered. ITEMS REQUIRED FOR TRAINING: - When checking in for training, please have your GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID with you (ie: Passport or Drivers Licences, etc.) - Shorts, T-Shirt, and Socks for pool exercises - Towels, shower facilities on site - Lock for locker - A change of clothes for Sea Day (in the winter bring warm clothes such as a sweatshirt and sweatpants) PLEASE NOTE: Certificates CANNOT be issued unless valid Government issued ID has been presented on Day 1 of training for all RONC courses, including OPITO approved training.
