The HERTM Further Training course is for existing members of a helideck emergency response team who are required to revalidate their OPITO HERTM Further Training by completing training scenarios they are unable to undertake in the offshore workplace.
Prerequisites
Learners must be in possession of a valid OPITO-approved HERTM Training Certificate or a valid HERTM Further Training certificate.
Learners must also hold a valid, current offshore medical certificate or possess an operator approved medical certificate and complete an
appropriate medical screening form provided by RelyOn Nutec.
Objective
The aim and objectives of the HERTM Further Training Programme is to give HERTM’s the opportunity to practice and maintain the skills required when dealing with helicopter emergency response situations or incidents as members of an Offshore Helideck Emergency Response Team, in aspects of their role which they cannot reasonably practise offshore.
Course content
HERTM Further Training
Outcome 1: Relevant aspects of helideck operations and helicopter emergency response
Outcome 2: Carry out effective emergency response to incidents on or around a Helideck
Outcome 3: Use firefighting equipment correctly
Outcome 4: Execute search and rescue activities
Exam
The learning outcomes of this course will be assessed through practical exercises.
Upon completion of the course, delegates will be awarded with an OPITO-approved Helideck Emergency Response Further Team Member (Further HERTM) certificate
Certification is valid for 2 years. Prior to expiry delegates must retake the Further HERTM course to remain certified.
Note: Training activities contained within this Product may include
physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be capable of participating fully.
Guidance learning hours note: For the HERTM, HERTM Further Training, HERTL and HERTL Further Training programmes, the guided learning hours may differ to accommodate company/installation emergency response teams. However all other requirements of the Product must be met, unless stated otherwise.
