Training for working in medium-risk confined spaces is designed for individuals performing tasks in environments where moderate hazards may be present, such as limited ventilation, potential exposure to hazardous gases, or entrapment risks.
Target Groups:
• Maintenance workers who regularly conduct inspections and maintenance in confined spaces.
• Construction workers and installers carrying out assembly, repair, or service work in confined spaces.
• Technicians and engineers responsible for inspections and equipment checks in confined spaces.
• Water and sewage industry workers entering manholes, water chambers, or sewage channels.
• Subcontractor employees working in restricted-access areas with moderate atmospheric risks.
• Industrial facility operators, such as those in chemical or energy plants, where hazardous vapors or gases may be present.
The Medium Risk training is designed for individuals who regularly work in confined spaces where moderate risks require special safety procedures but do not necessitate the use of emergency breathing apparatus.
Prerequisites
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Good physical condition.
• No contraindications for working at heights.
Objective
Examples of Medium-Risk Confined Spaces:
• Sewer manholes and inspection chambers.
• Water tanks or other storage units that do not contain highly toxic gases.
• Ventilation and air conditioning ducts with restricted access.
• Technical tunnels with limited ventilation.
• Silos and bulk material storage facilities, where there is a risk of entrapment or engulfment.
Course content
• Hazard assessment and risk identification in confined spaces.
• Atmospheric monitoring and detection of gas hazards.
• Personal (PPE) and collective protective measures.
• Emergency procedures and rescue systems.
• Teamwork principles and communication in confined spaces.
• Proper use of protective and ventilation equipment.
• Planning and controlling entry and exit from confined spaces.
