Target group
The course has been designed to make training more accessible both for new starters to the industry and for existing skilled and semi skilled craftspersons to develop their skills.

There are no pre requisites for this course
Objective
Moving loads involves familiarisation with all items of rigging equipment and attachments and preparing equipment for lifting and planning lifts. It also involves carrying out simple and complex lifting and moving operations of large components. The course will be ran over a five week period and will include both theoretical and practical training and assessments.
Course content
Week 1: Introduction to Training & Assessment Centre Introduction to Lifting Operations & Safe Systems of Work Introduction to Practical Training & Assessment Area Introduction to Lifting Equipment & Accessories Correct Selection of Lifting Equipment & Accessories Introduction to simple lifting operations Harness & Working at Height Awareness Introduction to Lift Planning Week 2: Basic Lift Planning, TBT's & TRA's Weight Estimation of Loads Correct selection of Lifting Equipment & Accessories OPITO Stage 1 Rigger Training (3 Days) Cross hauling of complex loads Week 3: Rigging Loft Management Cross hauling of complex loads Week 4 : COSHH Awareness PUWER Awareness GPA Simulation (during complex lifting operation) Cross hauling of complex loads Week 5: SCQF Level 5 VQ Update and completion RIDDOR Awareness LOLER Powerpoint introduction Cross hauling of complex loads
Exam
CBQ/SCQF L5 Learner Competency Outcome: A minimum of 6 complex lifting operations per learner, the learner will plan and execute a minimum of 6 complex lifting operations as a team leader, if the learner has not shown 'off the job' competency by simulation at level 5 after completing 6 complex lifting operations, additional lifts will be included in the learners CBQ/SCQF candidate portifolio until competency has been confirmed at this level by direct observation as carried out by the assessor. On successful completion of the training and assessment the learners will leave the centre with the following qualifications and certification: ECITB Level 5 CBQ Certification in Supporting Engineering Construction Activities OPITO Rigger Training Stage 1 Certificate Course are conducted at RelyOn Nutec training centres at Aberdeen and Teesside
