The Basic Technical Training modules are targeted at candidates who have no previous experience of hydraulic, mechanical or electrical systems but may also be used to up skill candidates who have some knowledge but not of their application in wind turbines
Prerequisites
Delegates shall have created a personal Delegate profile in WINDA and provide their own WINDA ID prior to completing the BTT training. Valid GWO WINDA ID: https://winda.globalwindsafety.org/
Objective
Having successfully completed the BTT Hydraulic Module, participants will be able to:
1) Explain the basics of hydraulics
2) Explain risks and hazards associated with hydraulic work
3) Describe the function of different types of pumps
4) Perform check of start/stop pressure of a pump
5) Describe the function of different types of actuators
6) Explain the function of different types of valves
7) Describe the function of accumulators
8) Perform check and pre-charge of accumulators
9) Describe the function of different types of sensors
10) Recognise the components that transfer the oil
11) Describe the handling of oil procedures
12) Recognise and find different components on a hydraulic diagram
13) Perform the accurate measurement of the hydraulic pressure
Course content
BTT covers knowledge and skills to carry out basic mechanical, electrical and hydraulic tasks (supervised by an experienced technician), using safe working procedures and the correct PPE.
