STCW Updated Proficiency in Advanced Fire Fighting Route 2

STCW Updated Proficiency in Advanced Fire Fighting Route 2 covers Section A-VI/3 of the STCW Code (paragraph 5) which states that ‘Seafarers qualified in accordance with paragraph 4 in advanced fire fighting shall be required, every 5 years, to provide evidence of having maintained the required standard of competence, to undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities listed in column 1 of Table A VI/3.

Proof of completing the STCW Advanced Fire Fighting or STCW AFF Update training is required.

There are four outcomes to the training; Outcome 1 - The learner knows how to control fire fighting operations aboard a ship Outcome 2 - The learner knows how to organise and train fire parties Outcome 3 - The learner knows how to inspect and service fire detection and extinguishing systems Outcome 4 - The learner is able to investigate and compile reports on incidents involving fire
