Prerequisites
Preferable: Legionella Awareness Training
Objective
This course will lay the foundations and cover the required learning objectives for staff to comply with HTM04:01 Part B 6.27 – 6.30. On completion of the course delegates will be deemed competent.
Course content
• An awareness of prominent water borne pathogens and their consequences. • How water systems become contaminated through poor water hygiene, and the effect this has on patient safety. • Water safety through good hygiene, clinical practice and appropriate control measures. • Disinfection and cleaning of equipment • Safe storage and supply of materials in contact with water and patient settings • An awareness of clinical governance arrangements. • Your role in the Water Safety Plan
